Terms of hire

These terms apply to any radio hire supplied by ERCS Ltd.

1. The agreement

Each hire is confirmed by a written agreement listing equipment, dates and prices. The agreement you sign is the definitive contract; these website terms summarise the important parts.

2. Ownership

All hired equipment remains our property at all times.

3. Use

You must use the equipment only for its intended purpose, by competent operators, and in accordance with any applicable Ofcom licence or licence-exempt allocation.

4. Loss and damage

You are liable for the full replacement cost of any equipment not returned, or returned damaged beyond economic repair. Replacement values are published on the Replacement Cost Schedule attached to every agreement. Consumables and fair wear and tear are not charged.

5. Deposits

We may ask for a refundable deposit before releasing equipment, especially on first-time hires or on kits above a certain value. Deposits are returned in full provided the kit is returned complete and undamaged.

6. Delivery, collection and return

Delivery and collection arrangements are set out in your agreement. Kit delivered by us becomes your responsibility from the point of delivery. If you are returning kit yourself, return it to Strathleven House, Dumbarton during working hours unless otherwise agreed.

7. Cancellation

More than 7 days before hire start: no charge. Within 7 days: 50% of the hire total. Within 48 hours or on the day of hire: 100%.

8. Governing law

Governed by the laws of Scotland.
